Remembering The (Good?) Old Times
I just discovered io9.com, part of the Gawker family of blogs, which has a post about the now defunct amusement park “Plänterwald”, later called Spreepark: Berlin’s Abandoned Spreepark Is Where Fun Goes To Die. They have some awesome photos up which have a slightly surrealistic feel.
I remember how I went there as a kid and went up in that huge Ferris Wheel. You could see Moabit from up there, part of West Berlin. I found that soo exciting, because West Berlin was like some mysterious and forbidding wonderland for me.
The video below makes me feel a little nostalgic…
