Teach beginners technology

If you are extremely immersed into the techie culture, it can be tricky to remember that you weren’t always the geeky guru that you are now, especially when showing someone with NO technology experience the ropes. UCLA professor Phil Agre has put together an excellent article on computer training for newbies [...].
Agre’s article “How to help someone use a computer” dates back to 1996, but it’s still totally relevant, with sound advice like ” If it’s not obvious to them, it’s not obvious.” or “Find out what they’re really trying to do. Is there another way to go about it?”. Go ahead, it’s a short read and a nice reminder of some basics if you’re teaching or helping out other people.
